Hawa FT secured the coveted champion title in the Belait District Football League following months of competition against 11 other teams, culminating in the final match on February 2.
The final match saw Nelayan FT dominate PBDB Jr, taking an early lead with five goals in the first half. Despite PBDB Jr scoring in the second half, Nelayan FT sealed their second-place position with a convincing 6-1 victory.
Hawa FT topped the leaderboard with 30 points, followed by Nelayan FT in second place and Liang Lumut Belait FT in third.
Hawa FT also received the Challenger’s Trophy to mark their triumph, while Md Zahrizal bin Zamali from Nusantara FC was awarded the Top Scorer title for netting 17 goals throughout the league.
President of the Belait District Football Association Morni bin Haji Zakaria attended the final match and presented trophies and medals to the top-performing teams. – Daniel Lim
