The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) held a certificate presentation for 209 Industrial Skills Qualification (ISQ) graduates at the Bridex Hall in Jerudong yesterday.
Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, the guest of honour, presented the certificates.
IBTE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli in his welcoming speech congratulated the students for their success and hoped that the knowledge and skills they have acquired will aid them in their future careers and will contribute to the development of the nation. The ceremony also saw the presentation of the Best Student award to Muhammad Aiman bin Joffery of School of Energy and Engineering Satellite, IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus for his outstanding results in ISQ in Welding.
Meanwhile, Nurlaiza binti Muhammad Mustafa, graduate of marking and fitting, said despite facing challenges, she is thankful that it has made her more disciplined and ready for the workforce.
She added that she is eager to enter her field, which is male dominated. “I want to show that women are able to work in this field. What they can do, we can do as well,” said the graduate.
