“A total of 82 students or 51 per cent of students have achieved grade ‘A’ in all five subjects during the 2021 Primary School Assessment (PSR).
“This means that the school met the goal of reaching 50 per cent or more students achieving grade ‘A’ in all subjects,” said Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Primary School Headmistress Hajah Mariam binti Haji Ladi in a welcoming speech during a ceremony yesterday.
“This is the fourth time that the school has achieved this feat.”
She also shared that 161 students, or 99.4 per cent of students, achieved grades ‘A’ to ‘D’ in all subjects.
The headmistress attributed the school’s excellent performance in the examination to the strong support of stakeholders, management, parents and teachers’ dedication as well as the students’ hard work, especially the adoption of online learning during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“The school has always demonstrated capabilities in using new learning methods and adapting to changes to overcome challenges,” said student representative Nayla Raeesa Dr Haji Norzaidi in a speech.
“When COVID-19 hit the country, the school managed to show that teaching and learning online could be fun,” said the student before thanking teachers and congratulating her peers for their outstanding achievements.
The event proceeded with a dance performance followed by the presentation of awards to outstanding students by Brunei Investment Agency Assistant Managing Director Ahmad Jefri bin Abdul Rahman.
