Malaysian High Commissioner-Designate to Brunei Darussalam Datuk Mohd Aini Atan and his wife, Datin Zaeidah Mohamed Esa hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at the Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam yesterday.
The hosting of Hari Raya open house marks the first such event by Datuk Mohd Aini and his wife in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration in Brunei, following his assumption of the posting from the previous Malaysian high commissioner late last year.
The event served as a platform for the high commissioner to strengthen ties and further enhance the relationship between the two countries.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Transport and Info-communication Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Mohammad were present. Legislative Council members, senior Brunei government officials, heads of foreign missions in Brunei and chief executive officers of corporate companies were also in attendance. – Lyna Mohamad
