Brunei Darussalam will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Saturday, 1 Syawal 1444 Hijrah corresponding to 22 April 2023, as the hilal or new moon of Syawal 1444 Hijrah was not sighted by officials assigned at vantage points set up across the country this evening.
The announcement, broadcast on Radio Television Brunei (RTB), was made this evening with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
