The children of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel who secured academic excellence in 2020 were acknowledged at award ceremonies held across RBAF units yesterday, with the focal point being at the Defence Academy RBAF (DA RBAF).

The ceremony was held in conjunction with RBAF’s Diamond Jubilee celebration.

RBAF Commander cum guest of honour Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat attended the event alongside military directors, senior officers, as well as parents and guardians of the award recipients.

A total of 213 children received excellence and appreciation awards in the form of certificates, monetary donations and gifts. Recipients comprised students who sat for the GCE ‘A’ Level, GCE ‘O’ Level, Brunei Religious Education Higher Certificate (STPUB), Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU) and Primary School Assessment (PSR) in 2020.

The awards were derived from the RBAF Welfare Fund and event sponsors – Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd, Koperasi Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (KOWIRA), S Naaz Sdn Bhd, The Cucur Tearoom, DCON Sdn Bhd and Isfahani Sdn Bhd.

The annual award ceremony celebrates outstanding achievers and encourages children to excel in their examinations.
