Halaqah Zikir 2024 at Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque closes

Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque held the closing ceremony of the Halaqah Zikir programme for government and private sector employees, in line with its role as “Raudhah al-Zikr” (Garden of Zikir). The monthly programme, organised on the first week of each month, reflects Brunei Darussalam’s commitment to becoming a Nation of Zikir, as called for by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The programme aims to strengthen the practice of zikir among government departments and private companies, fostering a culture of remembrance and prayer for the prosperity and safety of Brunei Darussalam. It seeks blessings for the nation, the widening of sustenance, and protection from calamities, emphasising Islamic values within both government and corporate institutions.

Led by officials of Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, including Pehins and Mudims, the Halaqah Zikir featured congregational Sunat Hajat prayers, recitations of selected surahs and zikir, a motivational talk, and a special prayer.
