Youth and grassroots leaders from Belait District participated in the ‘Halal Lifestyle for All’ programme at the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) Library yesterday.
Minda Youth Movement (MYM) President Zulhilmi bin Ibrahim highlighted that the programme can lead to a lifestyle in line with Islamic teachings.
The programme continued with a talk by Director of the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre (PPHT) at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Pengiran Dr Hajah Norkhairiah binti Pengiran Haji Hashim on the concepts and principles of Halalan Thayyiban and Halal Certification.
Assistant Lecturer at the PPHT Nor Surilawana binti Haji Sulaiman spoke on the basic concept and guidelines for cleanliness, safety and checklists to consider before making any purchase at eateries.
Legislative Council member and Kampong Bukit Sawat Village Head Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann was the guest of honour at the event organised by MYM in collaboration with UNISSA. Penghulu of Mukim Kuala Belait Haji Abdul Afiq bin Zainuddin also participated.
