Haj package operator Raudah Al-Amin Sdn Bhd Director Haji Abdul Rahman bin Mat yesterday shared with the Sunday Bulletin that some 27 pilgrims are registered with the company’s haj package this year.

He said besides attending courses provided by the Haj Management Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), the pilgrims also underwent courses to enhance their haj knowledge and to prepare them for the pilgrimage.

Prior to departure, Haji Abdul Rahman reminded the pilgrims on the importance of staying hydrated amid the hot weather conditions in Madinah and Makkah.

He also emphasised on the need to maintain good health, especially among senior citizens, to ensure they reach the Wukuf day on 9th of Zulhijjah.

Haji Abd Rahman said it is the role of travel agents to monitor the welfare and well-being of the pilgrims, so they will not miss on important haj rituals in Arafah and Mina.

Meanwhile, At-Taqwa Travel and Tours Chief Operating Officer Pengiran Haji Mohammad Fakrulrazi bin Pengiran Haji Omarali said the company provided briefings and practical sessions on Tawaf and Sa’ie for intending haj pilgrims, including a simulation of Wuquf in Arafah, to prepare them for the ritual.

The pilgrims have been prepared mentally, physically and spiritually to ensure a smooth journey, he said.

Every Friday, the company will hold an activity, berbagi rezeki, to provide pilgrims with an opportunity to donate or share foods and drinks with others in their vicinity.

Ahmad Waiz Ulfi bin Dahlan of Dar El-Ehsan, who is accompanying 57 pilgrims registered under the agency, said one of the initiatives taken was to enhance the knowledge of haj briefing at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

First-timer pilgrim, Pengiran Dr Fariza binti Dato Paduka Haji Sani is on the pilgrimage with her husband and children.

She said they attended haj courses provided at the mosque and a six-week course organised by the MoRA. To prepare for the journey, they also bought some books on haj to help them understand the rukun and syarat haji. – Rokiah Mahmud
