Haj advance team leaves for Saudi Arabia

An advance party, comprising 13 individuals from the Haj Pilgrims Management Office (Administration and Medical) departed for Saudi Arabia from the Brunei International Airport yesterday.

The delegation, comprising five administration officers and eight medical officers, is led by Director of Haj Management Department Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohammad as the head of the Haj Management Office.

The delegation left for Saudi Arabia to make preliminary preparation with parties in Saudi Arabia for the management of haj affairs prior to the arrival of intending haj pilgrims from Brunei. Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar were present at the airport to bid them farewell.

Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, permanent and acting deputy permanent secretaries at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Health were also present at the send-off.

The intending haj pilgrims are scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on May 23, 24, 25 and 26. – Rokiah Mahmud
