Haj advance team departs for Saudi Arabia

The Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB) Haj advance group, led by Managing Director Haji Mahmud bin Haji Mohamed as head of delegation and Assistant General Manager of the Haj and Umrah Department Pengiran Haji Ibrahim bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, departed Brunei Darussalam for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia yesterday as part of final preparations prior to the arrival of intending Haj pilgrims registered under the company.

According to Haji Mahmud, in Saudi Arabia, they will conduct meetings with parties to ensure logistic requirements, including hotels, transportation and meal arrangements, meet the itinerary outlined by DHSB.

He advised the intending Haj pilgrims to be ready for the Haj rituals and the adherence of regulations and instructions outlined by the Government of Saudi Arabia. He also reminded them to prioritise health, wear face masks, ensure their safety and to Tawakkal to Allah the Almighty, so they will return to the Sultanate safe and sound.

This year, 352 intending Haj pilgrims were selected by DHSB from the 453 quota allocated for the Sultanate.

Along with the intending Haj pilgrims, 10 DHSB officers have been assigned to accompany the pilgrims.

The Sultanate will have two special chartered flights boarding from Brunei to Madinah with the first flight scheduled to depart on June 15 and the second on June 16.
