Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) celebrated the culmination of the BIBD Aspirasi 6 Rewards Campaign, awarding prizes of BND200,000 each to two lucky winners.
The two lucky winners who walked away with BND200,000 each were Yeo See Tshoon and Yapp Hui Menn.
Four quarterly winners also walked away with BND10,000 each, while 24 monthly winners were each rewarded with BND1,000.
The prize presentation ceremony, held at the International Convention Centre on the sidelines of the 30th Consumer Fair and Trade Expo, was officiated by Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of the BIBD Board of Directors Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
Also present were members of the BIBD Board of Directors and BIBD Shariah Advisory Body, as well as members of the BIBD senior management team.
In an interview, one of the winners, Yapp Hui Menn, shared, “I feel very happy and grateful that I was able to win the grand prize today. I would like to thank BIBD for this opportunity.
“With Chinese New Year just around the corner, the grand prize will definitely help my family for the festive celebration.”
On her savings for Aspirasi, she said, “I started putting money into Aspirasi five years ago. I have committed to putting in 60 per cent of my monthly salary. The discipline of saving came from my mother.
“Since young, my mother has always asked me to save more because money is hard to earn, so it is important to save.” The winners were selected from a pool of customers who subscribed to BIBD Aspirasi and maintained a minimum holding period of 90 days.
Following an earlier live draw for eligible certificate numbers, the event featured a separate draw to determine the monthly and quarterly winners.
To participate in the reward draws, customers needed to maintain a minimum BND50 deposit throughout the 90-day holding period.
The BIBD Aspirasi programme, which is currently in its sixth cycle, has rewarded over 2,190 winners with total winnings of over BND5.07 million since its inception. Throughout the BIBD Aspirasi 6 rewards campaign, a total of BND848,000 was won by 306 monthly winners, 16 quarterly winners, and two grand winners.
BIBD Aspirasi 6 reflects the bank’s dedication to financial inclusivity and literacy. The reward campaign, structured to incentivise and cultivate positive saving habits, offers a plethora of prizes throughout the year.
