International School Brunei (ISB) celebrated the completion of studies for 92 Year 6 students through a formal ceremony marking the start of the students’ transition to secondary education.
The ceremony was held in the school’s theatre, with the graduating Year 6 students, parents, and their class teachers present.
Also part of the celebration was the Year 6 group from ISB Seria.
Part of the Year 6 graduating Class of 2022 was Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah.
During the celebration, students, parents, and staff had the opportunity to reflect and look back on each student’s journey through primary school, and look forward to the beginning of the next chapter of their education.
The ceremony began with a welcoming speech from ISB Head of Primary, Michael Everett.
He congratulated the students for their hard work throughout their primary school journey, especially during these uncertain times.
“This cohort in particular has made us very proud, demonstrating resilience and achieving remarkable outcomes. We consistently aim to ensure each child has a solid foundation in learning and the Year 6 Class of 2022 are now ready to build upon this into their next stage of development.
“We have taken great care to ensure the attainment, progress and achievement of each child is at the heart of everything we do.
“Completing primary school education is an important milestone in any child’s life and we know the young learners on stage today will go on to achieve heights not yet dreamed of.”
Each Year 6 student was presented with a certificate of completion, marking the end of their educational journey at ISB Primary.
During the ceremony, the audience was treated to videos showcasing messages from each of the Year 6 students, sharing some of their memorable moments in ISB Primary.
The Class of 2022 did not have a typical Year 6 experience.
Despite the challenges of the last two years, these students have shown resilience and demonstrated their strength and ability to adapt during hardship, exemplifying ISB’s motto, ‘Everyone Excels’.
The ceremony also saw a performance by all the Year 6 students.
The Year 6 ceremony served as a rite of passage from primary school into the next phase of the students’ lives.
