Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Chief Executive Officer Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli yesterday urged graduates to take every opportunity to learn more about the jobs on offer.

He said this during the IBTE Job Fair at the IBTE Mechanical Campus, Tungku following the launching ceremony.

Dr Haji Mohd Zamri said, “IBTE is always ready to make sure the programmes offered are relevant and influence the demands of the industry. In addition, IBTE always focusses on strengthening knowledge, skills and attitude, so that its graduates are equipped with abilities, credibility and team spirit.”

He added that the job fair is a platform to help IBTE graduates to find employment in relevant sectors as well as reduce the issue of unemployment among them.

Around 400 job vacancies in various fields offered by 30 companies are available at the job fair. Besides the oil and gas sector, there are also employment opportunities in hospitality, automotive, technology and other sectors for IBTE graduates.

Acting Head of the Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) Secretariat Hajah Noraini binti Haji Mohammad Jamudin officiated the event and presented certificates of appreciation to the participating companies of the job fair.

Other activities lined up at the job fair include a CV clinic, briefings from various agencies and open job interview.
