In a continued effort to disseminate information on current issues and government policies, as well as to gather feedback for relevant authorities, the Information Department under the Prime Minister’s Office, through its Belait District branch, organised the “Sua Muka” (Personal Contact) Programme Thursday at the Government Departments Hall in Kampong Labi II, Mukim Labi, Belait District.
The delegation was led by Head of the District Branch Division of the Information Department Haji Fathi Foad bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abu Bakar. The programme also included briefings by representatives from the Public Works Department, Department of Electrical Services, Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Department of Health Services, Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry (AITI), Unified National Networks Sdn Bhd (UNN), and Unified Smart Metering Services Sdn Bhd (USMS).
Haji Fathi Foad in his opening address emphasised the Information Department’s role as the “voice, eyes, and ears” of the government. He highlighted that the department actively disseminates updates, government policies, and current issues to the public through various channels, including the Personal Contact Programme and the official publication, Pelita Brunei. The department aims to foster a strong government-public relationship, particularly through face-to-face communication initiatives under the department’s strategic working framework.
The Personal Contact Programme also featured a dialogue session with village residents, where issues concerning communication infrastructure, public maintenance, and other local concerns were discussed. The programme serves as a platform to enhance mutual understanding and contribute to the community’s progress. – FADLEY FAISAL
