The government plans to stabilise antigen rapid test (ART) kit prices by importing a large amount and selling at a low cost.

This was said by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah at a press conference yesterday.
The minister said this will solve the rising ART kit prices in the market due to the imbalance of supply and demand.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew said the government plans to purchase nine million ART kits, which with the current supply of one million sets, will mean the public having access to 10 million units in total.

The minister, however, suggested that the public buy from private businesses when the prices are more stable.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew said the sale of ART kits will be announced soon.
