The Sri Lanka State Services netball team gained valuable experience after taking part in training sessions with the Royal Bees at the Mumong Sports Complex, Belait District on Tuesday.

Led by former World Cup player and former president of the Sri Lanka Netball Association Trixie Jayantha Nanayakkara, the team arrived last week to join training sessions and compete in a seven-match test series across the nation.

The Royal Bees edged Sri Lanka State Services 51-48 in a recent training match in the Belait District.

“What I can see is that the (Bruneian) team has grown, and with this latest training session, both Royal Bees and Sri Lanka State Services were able to gain valuable experience from this.”

From her last visit in 2016, she admitted how netball talents in Brunei have grown.

The two teams will compete again in an exhibition match today at the multipurpose hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex. – Daniel Lim
