Glorifying significance of Israk Mikraj

The Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD)organised an Israk Mikraj celebration for the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) yesterday.

Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour at the virtual event.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and a Doa followed by a talk titled ‘Ke Mana Hatimu Ketika Sembahyang’ delivered by Religious Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi.

The ceremony was held to commemorate the miraculous event of Israk Mikraj by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as well as embracing the virtue of performing the five daily obligatory prayers.

Legislative Council (LegCo) members, mukim penghulus and village heads as well as deputy permanent secretary, acting deputy permanent secretary, heads of department and officials at the MoHA were also in attendance.

Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism

The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) held an online Israk Mikraj celebration yesterday.

Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong was the guest of honour.

Permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretary, heads of departments and divisions, senior officers and staff at the MPRT were also in attendance.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a lecture titled ‘Sembahyangku Kerana Allah’ delivered by Islamic Da’wah Centre Religious Development Officer Isham bin Ismail.

The talk highlighted the importance of every Muslim to perform the obligatory daily prayers to show obedience to the commands of Allah the Almighty and as a sign of gratitude for His blessings. Isham said prayers must be performed with sincerity, proper manners, devotion and Istiqamah to obtain mercy, safety in this world and the hereafter. The event then concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.

The celebration was organised by the Tourism Development Department.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD)

The Spirituality and Community Service Unit (UKKM) at the Student Affairs at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held a talk and prayer workshop in conjunction with Israk Mikraj recently.

Held in collaboration with Religious and Spiritual Executives of UBD Students Association and UBD Religious and Spiritual Executive Alumni, the prayer workshop was held online in two sessions.

The first session was held on February 8 titled ‘Tadabbur Rukun Qauli Dalam Solat, Menghayati Isi Bacaan Dalam Solat’ presented by Director of Jawi and Kitab Turath Research and Studies Centre at Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Harapandi Dahri.

The second session was held on March 2, presented by the Assistant Religious Development Officer, Dakwah Dissemination Division, Islamic Da’wah Centre Norhayati binti Haji Abdul Rahman.

The highlight of the UBD Israk Mikraj celebration this year was a talk titled ‘Sembahyangku Kerana Allah’ delivered by Ustaz Muhammad Yusuf bin Haji Abdul Majid.

UBD Vice Chancellor Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz was the guest of honour at the talk.

UBD Dean of Students Ustaz Saidai bin Haji Hitam as the Chairman of the Council Working Committee as well as the UBD principal officers, staff and students as well as the public were also present.

The organisers hoped that the workshop and talk will be beneficial for participants to get closer to Allah the Almighty.
