    Glorifying Ramadhan with charitable acts

    Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin presented donations to 13 orphans from Kampong Delima Satu during a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus Surau.

    The event began with a mass Zohor prayer, followed by a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister. The surau’s imam led the Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Khatam.

    KUPU SB Students Representative Council

    Twelve Muallaf (Muslim converts) families in Tutong District received basic necessities from Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) as part of a Mahabbah Ramadhan programme conducted by the Students Representative Council (MPP) at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Pekan Tutong on April 21.

    The event was organised in collaboration with the Tutong District Islamic Da’wah Centre and the Tutong District Office.

    The selected families also attended a Tahlil event before sungkai (breaking of fast), along with guest of honour KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar.

    The Mahabbah Ramadhan programme aimed to enhance awareness among students on the importance of social responsibilities towards Muslim converts and the underprivileged.

    The ceremony continued with the recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah led by Assistant Executive Committee (ExCo) for Religious and Surau Takmir of MPP KUPU SB Aqil Arfan bin Arjune. A Doa Selamat was read by Head of Religious and Takmir Surau ExCo of MPP KUPU SB Muhammad Noor Syahmi bin Mazne.

    UNISSA’s Student Affairs Section

    Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), through its Student Affairs Section, handed over donations to 40 orphans and underprivileged students yesterday.

    The donations were contributed by officers, lecturers, students and staff members at UNISSA.

    UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal as the guest of honour presented the donations during an event that also held the Ihya Tedarus Al-Quran and Nuzul Al-Quran celebrations.

    A tazkirah titled ‘Bertemankan Al-Quran Sepanjang Zaman: Perhatian Al-Quran Terhadap Iktikaf di Bulan Ramadhan’, delivered by a lecturer at the Faculty of Syariah and Law, touched on the need to perform good deeds and pious acts among Muslims in the last 10 days of Ramadhan, particularly through Al-Quran recitation.

    UNISSA’s Arabic Language Faculty

    Ten underprivileged families in Mukim Pengkalan Batu received basic necessities from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through the student’s body of the Arabic Language Faculty as part of their Yadan Bi Yadin programme on April 20.

    The faculty collected the donations from UNISSA members.

    Assistant Rector (Academic) at UNISSA Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad as the Dean of the Arabic Language Faculty, presented the donations.

    Among the places visited were Kampong Junjongan, Kampong Limau Manis, Kampong Batu Ampar, Kampong Batong, Kampong Pengkalan Batu, Kampong Masin and Kampong Bebatik.

    The programme, involving 18 students, served as a platform to students to show compassion for the needy.
