A yoga session to celebrate the 9th International Day of Yoga was organised by the Indian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam yesterday.

The special event was held at India House, the official residence of the Indian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam and saw participation from yoga enthusiasts, youth, members of the Diplomatic Corps, friends of India and the local Indian community.

Also in attendance was Charge D’Affairs at the Indian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam Alok Verma.

The session was led by yoga guru Brahmanand Tichkule.

A showcase on India tourism, travel and technology was also held at the event as part of India’s 75th anniversary of its independence and the Incredible India campaign.

The International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually since June 21, 2015 as part of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s global commitment to universal physical and mental health with the practice of yoga.
