DES School

DES School recently organised a donation handover to 17 orphaned students which was attended by their family and guardians, as well as the school’s teachers and staff.

The students received cash donations, Hari Raya hamper and kurta for male students and kain for female students.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Tahlil, Doa Arwah and Doa Selamat before iftar.

“Our school is not just a place of learning; it’s a community that cares deeply for everyone,” said DES School principal Hajah Aliya Ameera binti Haji Bahrein. She also expressed her appreciation to all students, teachers and parents for the event’s success.

The annual event illustrates the true essence of Ramadhan, emphasising the values of charity, empathy, and togetherness.

Kampong Burong Pinggai Ayer

Some 11 orphans from Kampong Burong Pinggai Ayer received donations in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for orphans at Pehin Dato Imam Haji Abdul Mokti Mosque yesterday.

Acting Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri presented the donations.

The ceremony also included the reading of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam and iftar.

The event aimed to gain blessings in the holy month of Ramadhan and to lessen the orphans’ burdens and bring joy ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. – Azlan Othman

Dato Marsal Primary School

Dato Marsal Primary School (SRDM) under Cluster 3 held a donation ceremony for orphans recently.

Former SRDM headmaster Haji Sikun bin Rayun was the guest of honour.

The school’s former teachers presented donations to seven orphans at the school.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of a retirement gift to SRDM staff member Hajah Masnah binti Haji Tarif.

KEMUDA Institute

The KEMUDA Institute Student Council collected and distributed donations of various items recently.

The donated items included kain, baju cara Melayu, baju kurong, tudong and songkok to help those in need to prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

KEMUDA Institute’s Student Council representative as well as KEMUDA Institute staff led the donation campaign.

The campaign aimed to help people in need during the holy month of Ramadhan while encouraging the spirit and culture of bringing people together, the concept of sedekah and working towards a good cause.
