Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) yesterday received a donation of BND3,000 raised from the charity musical showcase ‘Faith In Music’.
Samsudin bin Haji Puasa on behalf of DANA received the donation from the organisers prior to the event, organised by Expression Music Academy with support from Syarikat Salma and sponsors, at Impiana Jaya Complex.
Expression Music Academy Director Lily Chiam said she planned the musical event with Haji Abdullah from Syarikat Salma and Pengiran Salam some time ago.
“Our goal was to raise awareness on the importance of charity and to give back to the community,” she said.
“Our teams, Expression Music Academy and Syarikat Salma are here to bless you with musical talents and creativity found in Brunei,” Chiam said.
She added, “As we prioritise excellence in music performance, we also believe in raising beautiful hearts. True beauty is caring. What stands out in this showcase is the performers are mostly students and graduates.
“Together with their teachers, they are nurturing the next generation of musicians.”
Some 81 students from Expression Music Academy showcased their talents from ballad, classic, jazz, trending TikTok songs to instrumental solos. – James Kon
