The Information Department provided exposure on basic information related to ASEAN to 139 secondary school students through a roadshow at Perdana Wazir Secondary School in the Belait District recently.
As the Secretariat of the Information Sub-Committee on Information (SCI) under the ASEAN Committee for Culture and Information (COCI), the ‘Get to Know ASEAN’ roadshow aims at injecting the spirit of unity or “ASEAN-ness” among the students.
It sought to give students an appreciation of the association’s function and the purpose of its establishment, while creating awareness that they are part of the ASEAN community, in line with the ASEAN motto, “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”.
An ASEAN quiz was held to test the students’ knowledge on the organisation’s role in developing its member countries.
Students were also given an exposure to the ‘We ASEAN’ mobile app, which contains information about ASEAN and its member states.
