Getting scammed on social media

My sister recently bought a baju raya from a social media seller. After transferring BND58 for the outfit and another BND10 for delivery to a bank account, she received a confirmation text but nothing afterwards.

A few days of radio silence prompted her to contact the seller. That was when she found out that her phone number and IG account had been blocked.

She started asking around, to see if other people had bought from that particular seller.

Turned out, quite a number of friends had been through the same experience. And like her, they were reluctant to file police reports for the fear of appearing petty.

My question is: How many more people need to be scammed before someone is willing to expose the seller?

I hope this letter would inspire one of the victims to alert the law enforcement before more people fall prey to the criminal activity on social media.
