ANN/THE PHNOM PENH POST – Ongoing worries about global economic uncertainty have continued to push down fuel prices in international markets, including in Cambodia, for more than a week now.
According to an April 11 notice from the Ministry of Commerce, the retail prices of regular gasoline and diesel have both decreased by 150 riel per litre, effective for a 10-day period from April 11 to 20.
The statement said that the retail price of regular gasoline is now 3,750 riel per litre, down from 3,900 riel 10 days ago. Meanwhile, diesel is priced at 3,550 riel per litre, down from 3,700 riel.
The ministry stated that the price adjustments were made under a policy introduced by former prime minister Hun Sen, which aimed to ease the cost of living for citizens.
After consultations with the Kingdom’s fuel distribution companies, current Prime Minister Hun Manet approved continued price reductions.
On January 1, 2025, the retail price of regular gasoline was 3,950 riel per litre, while diesel was 3,800 riel.
