Supreme Court Chief Justice Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong Wan Oon called on Malaysia’s Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, on the sidelines of his attendance at the 7th Joint Judicial Conference.
A bilateral discussion was held between Chief Justice Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong, along with his delegation of judges and judicial officers, and Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun with members of the Malaysian judiciary, at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
The Chief Justice said that discussions were fruitful and presentations by the Malaysian Judiciary on areas including judicial administration, case management, use of technology in court, transcription of proceedings, the use of mediation in court and judicial education and training were beneficial.
The Chief Justice together with his delegation also toured the Malaysian Judiciary Museum, the Federal Court/Court of Appeal court room and the registry of the Court of Appeal.
The Chief Justice said the visit reaffirms the long and historical relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia, “with the hope to strengthen judicial cooperation through facilitating exchanges and fostering collaboration between both Judiciaries”. – Fadley Faisal
