French delegation in Brunei to strengthen ties

President of the French Southeast Asia Committee Mathieu Darnaud and delegation comprising three senators are currently in the Sultanate for a three-day visit to strengthen ties between the two countries.

Secretary to the Cabinet Minister’s Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Judin bin Haji Asar greeted the delegation at Brunei International Airport on Wednesday evening.

Darnaud met Minister of Energy Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Mohd Hussein, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Attorney General Haji Ahmad bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Politics) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hajah Mardiana binti Haji Omar.

The meetings aimed to exchange ideas as well as discuss issues of mutual interests and strengthen ties between the two countries.

The delegation is set to take a river cruise on Brunei River to see the famed Kampong Ayer as well as a visit to the Royal Regalia Museum in the capital.
