A foreign worker was detained after 38 boxes of raw duck meat weighing 570 kilogrammes without the Halal import permit were seized at Sungai Tujoh Control Post, Belait District on Thursday.
Enforcement officers from the Halal Food Control Division at the Syariah Affairs Department and Royal Customs and Excise Department found the items during an integrated operation.
The detained foreign worker was the vehicle’s driver.
The raw meat was handed-over to the RCED.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in a press release expressed appreciation to the public for the tip-off.
