Four youth businesses receive funding

Four local youth businesses, finalists of the Youth Business Competition (YBC) 2021, organised by Enterprise Innovation Community and Outreach (EICO) and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), received funding yesterday in a ceremony at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

Syarikat Kilang Reroot, Syarikat Tambang Company, Syarikat Katam Kaloik and Syarikat Zed Consultantcy had winning business plans from the YBC 2021, which was held from
April 5-26, 2021.

A total of 33 business plans were submitted throughout the course of the competition.

Finalists of the competition took part in business workshops and were also appointed mentors to further develop their business plans.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin handed over the funds.

In a press statement, the MCYS believe that the funds awarded to the finalists will aid in the successful execution of their businesses.

The ministry said it is in full support of the competition as it acts as a platform for youth in the country to develop business ideas and benefit the social economic development of the country.
