Four Year 10 students from Berakas Secondary School and an education officer will represent Brunei Darussalam at the Southeast Asia Plus Sustainable Development Goals Youth Camp in Thailand from today until February 1.
The delegation includes Danial Batrish Moksin bin Abdullah, Ruza Aidil Fikri bin Muhd Ruben, Nadhirah binti Ariffin and Alma Lutfiah binti Haji Mohd Nazri Al-Amin.
Maralina binti Haji Awang Matnoor from the same school is accompanying the students. The students will participate in activities related to Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Maralina said the youth camp is organised by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Regional Centre for Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for Sustainability (SEPS) and Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand.
“Youth and teachers from SEAMEO member countries will participate in the camp. The participants will be involved in various activities promoting SDGs,” she said.
The camp allows students to collaborate with participants from other SEAMEO countries.
Senior Special Duties Officer (Professional) Haji Metussin bin Haji Jais from the Department of Schools at the Ministry of Education was at the airport to send off the delegation. – James Kon
