    Azlan Othman

The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy has issued four BND500 fines to four business premises for violating Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act, from mid to end of March 2023.

The four business premises were found selling cooking oil and infant formula milk powder exceeding the maximum set prices during a routine inspection.

From mid to end of March 2023, eight warning notices were also issued for several offences under Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act including selling cooking oil above the maximum set price and for not displaying price tags for a number of retail items such as eggs, vegetables, rice, frozen meat bones, and flour.

Retailers are reminded to comply with Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act, to develop a resilient domestic business ecosystem.

JPES said consumers can direct complaints or feedback on Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act through the PenggunaBijak mobile application; Darussalam Line 123; and e-mail at aduanpengguna@jpes.gov.bn.
