Four new contenders on Day Three of Baiduri Masters

At the conclusion of the first weekend of play of the Baiduri Masters, four new contenders entered the leaderboard with a fantastic display of golfing prowess despite a rain-soaked start to the day.

Irwan Hamid still stands at the top of the leaderboard with a comfortable five-stroke lead.

The podium saw a new contender with the introduction of Asmawi Ismail in second with a score of 72, tied with third place Bryan Chew. With that, Tony bin Haji Karim, Awangku Syakir bin Pengiran Haji Alli and Faiz Damit each moved down one spot to fourth, fifth and sixth place with their scores of 72, 72 and 73 respectively. In seventh and eighth place were newcomers Madan Kumar Gurung and Md Haswandi bin Haji Paun both with a score of 73 as well. Rounding off the top 12 were Seruji bin Haji Setia, Suhaimi Ibrahim, Chu Vui Kiat and the latest entry to the leaderboard, Rozaimi bin Haji Ahmad with a score of 75.

To date, 309 golfers competed in the first weekend. Registrations for the Baiduri Masters is still open. Golfers can compete across four categories – men’s open, senior, ladies open and junior (age 13-18).

Online registrations for the Baiduri Masters is available and offers a discounted rate of BND115 for men’s, ladies’ and senior categories and BND60 for the junior category.

Interested golfers can register online through the Maribali platform at www.maribali.com.bn and search for the Baiduri Masters.

Proceeds from the tournament will go to five charitable organisations, namely the Child Development Centre (CDC), the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA), the Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association (PAPDA), the National Association for the Hearing-Impaired (OKP) and Learning Ladders Society (LLS).

Participants are vying for the Challenge Trophy and the coveted Green Jacket. The hole-in-one prizes include a BMW 520i on hole 16, MINI One on hole 9 or BND30,000 on holes 7  and 13.
