Four siblings of Dusun ethnicity embraced Islam at the Sinar Islam Association’s (PSI) building in Kuala Belait on November 18.
The newly converted were: 26-year-old Dannie Shazrul bin Simpul, who has taken on the name of Muhammad Shahrul Zulkarnain bin Simpul, 23-year-old Dannie Shazron bin Simpul with his new name Shahron Zulqarnain bin Simpul, 21-year-old Dannie Shazren bin Sumpul now called Muhammad Khalid Imran bin Simpul and 17-year-old Suzzie Dazrine binti Simpul, who has taken the name of Nur Hana Fauziyah binti Simpul.
Head religious officer at the Belait District Religious Affairs Office Mohammad Aliyani bin Ismail was the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Sayyidil Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.
The guest of honour presented gifts to the new converts, who along with family members and friends sprinkled scented oil onto the siblings accompanied by Dikir Marhaban.
The Belait District Dakwah Unit recorded 72 converts since the start of the year. – Daniel Lim
