    Four companies fined for littering

    Four local companies in Tutong District were slapped with compound fines by the Tutong District Office’s Enforcement Unit after they were found leaving behind rubbish and spilling oil and food waste in public areas – violations under the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021.

    According to the Tutong District Office, three companies were issued with a BND500 compound fine each, while one company received a compound fine of BND200.

    A corporate body who fails to settle the fine within seven days will be brought to court and can face a fine of BND2,000 and no more than BND10,000 for the first offence and a fine of at least BND10,000 and no more than BND30,000, imprisonment of no more than 12 months or both for subsequent offences.
