As reported by the education attaché at the Brunei Darussalam High Commission in Australia, four students were indirectly affected by flash floods, experienced by a number of areas in Queensland, Australia since February 26, according to the Ministry of Education (MoE).
While the surrounding areas were inundated with water, the students’ residences, however, were not affected as they were located at a higher ground.
The flash floods were caused by intense rainfall and thunderstorms in the areas few days prior to February 26.
The MoE informed that all students currently in Queensland, Australia were not directly affected by the incident.
The MoE, through the education attaché at the Brunei Darussalam High Commission in Australia, will constantly monitor the students’ safety and well-being. Families do not need to worry about the incident.
