The Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office organised a ‘Get to Know ASEAN Tour’ for 288 Year 7 students of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School yesterday.
The programme, organised through the International Affairs Unit as the Secretariat of the ASEAN-COCI Information Sub-Committee (SCI), is the department’s ongoing efforts in instilling the spirit of patriotism and unity among students by appreciating the function and purpose of ASEAN.
It also aimed to strengthen the relationship between the department and the community, especially the students who will play an important role in leading the country.
The briefing was delivered by Acting Head of the International Affairs Unit Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin.
The ‘We ASEAN’ mobile application – containing information about ASEAN and ASEAN member states, the ASEAN calendar, quizzes, photo galleries and videos – was also promoted which is one of the projects under the SCI of the ASEAN-COCI.
An ASEAN quiz was also held.
Deputy Principal Pengiran Haji Asmadi bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin attended the event, which will focus on Years 8 and 9 students of the school today and tomorrow.
