The importance of strengthening faith and piety to Allah the Almighty and the need for individuals to carry out their responsibilities to themselves, family members, society and the country were highlighted during the Munajat night held at Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque in Kampong Sengkarai, Tutong District on Saturday.
Acting Assistant Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Asminan bin Haji Chuchu said this in his talk on ‘Lessons from Surah ad Dukhan’ of Al-Quran.
He said the ummah’s responsibilities include matters related to religion, society and the state, as well as all aspects of life.
“In Surah Ad-Dukhan, Allah the Almighty showed authority by revealing Al-Quran, then as a warning and a lesson from stories of Prophet Musa’s (pbuh) victory and the defeat of Pharaoh as well as a warning to the unbelievers of Makkah who denied the news delivered by the Messenger of Allah the Almighty.
“At the end of the surah, Allah the Almighty describes the chaos of Judgement Day and the beauty and pleasure in Heaven. All of this creates a sense of repentance and brings awareness that only faith and piety will be able to heal from the punishment of Allah the Almighty,” said Asminan.
The weekly programme held for the 109th time, was co-organised by the MoRA and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman and Legislative Council members were among those who participated. – Azlan Othman
