Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque’s Syababul Iman Group, Mosque Takmir Committee and WeCare Association organised a forum themed ‘Palestine Jauh Di Mata Dekat Di Hati’, to raise awareness among the local Muslim community about the Palestine crisis and current issues.
Haji Abdul Mateen Bolkini bin Haji Ahmad chaired the forum which had 300 participants.
The panellists comprised Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Grade II Special Duties Officer Mohd Yussof bin Haji Abdul Majid and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan’s Fiqh Al-Usrah Research Centre Assistant Lecturer Hilman bin Haji Salim.
Discussions included Palestine’s history, what local Muslims can contribute as well as the importance of five-a-day prayers among the youth. – Rokiah Mahmud
