The Former Information Officers Ad-Hoc Committee organised a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration ‘Majlis Muhibbah Silaturrahim’ at a restaurant on Saturday.
The ceremony commenced with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Pengiran Haji Zahari bin Pengiran Adi, followed by welcoming remarks by Advisor to the Former Information Officers Ad-Hoc Committee Haji Junaidi bin Orang Kaya Setia Negara Haji Mohd Safar.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, who is also a former information director and the guest of honour, delivered words of advice. Meanwhile, Haji Ja’afar bin Haji Ibrahim, as the organising committee secretary, shared that the ceremony marked its fourth rendition, with the first in 2019, the second in 2021 and the third last
year.
He added the ceremony served as a platform and medium to strengthen the bonds of friendship and harmonious relations among the members of former and present information officers.
“Through informal meetings like this, it has also created a warm atmosphere and fostered a spirit of cooperation, as well as a space for former and present information officers, as well as their families, to greet each other while seeking forgiveness.”
