Immigration enforcement officers nabbed a foreign woman permitted to work as a domestic helper in the Sultanate on Tuesday for violating the provisions under Regulation 15 (2), Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act and Regulations which states that a foreign worker in Brunei must work for the original employer.

The operation involving officers from Kuala Belait Law Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) and Labour Department, Kuala Belait Branch was led by a senior immigration officer.

Meanwhile, her employer was issued calling letters and instructed to visit the branch.

The Acting Chief Immigration Officer at Kuala Belait Law Enforcement Division reminded employers to comply with the Immigration Act and Regulations, and ensure that their employees work as prescribed. The INRD also requested the public to provide information in relation to immigration offences. Any information will be kept confidential.
