The participation of foreign air forces added colour to this year’s Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) anniversary celebration while also enhancing ties among the participants.
Royal Brunei Air Force’s (RBAirF) hosting of the 62nd anniversary celebration at RBAirF Base in Rimba has made it possible to invite foreign counterparts from the region and beyond to showcase their air assets by joining a static display.
The air force base, sharing a runway with the Brunei International Airport, routinely welcomes visits from foreign air forces.
The static display showcases state-of-the-art air platforms employed by eight participating countries grouped into intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR); mobility; firepower and support helicopters.
Among the displays were RBAirF’s S-70i and CN235-110M; Royal Air Force’s Puma HC Mk2; Royal Malaysian Air Force’s A400 and SU-30; United States Air Force’s CL-605 and P-8; Republic of Singapore Air Force’s AS332M/MI and H225M and the F-16C; Indonesian Air Force’s CN-295; Philippine Air Force’s C-295M and Royal Australian Air Force’s C27J.
