The Ministry of Religious Affairs’ (MoRA) Fathul Barakah Project 6.0, which collects basic food necessities for distribution to asnaf converts throughout the country, continued yesterday with donation drives at the Tutong, Belait and Temburong Dakwah Units.
The project, conducted through MoRA’s Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) and the Brunei Darussalam New Converts Association, saw the presence of Tutong Head of Religious Officer Haji Azman bin Haji Musa, Sinar Islam Association (PSI) Belait President Abdul ‘Alim bin Abdullah Igol and Temburong Acting Head of Religious Officer Haji Hazimin bin Haji Metali.
Since the collection event for the Brunei-Muara District over the weekend, the project has received an encouraging response from the public.
The project offers the public an opportunity to give infaq jariah or alms in the form of basic food necessities to asnaf converts in need, in preparation for the holy month of Ramadhan.
The project is a charitable initiative for the well-being of converts in the country, earning double rewards from Allah the Almighty as well as strengthening ties between the Brunei Darussalam New Convert Association and the PDI.
It also serves as a Bilmal dakwah effort, caring for the development of the lives, welfare and appreciation of the Islamic faith of asnaf converts in the country, enabling them to continue practising their religion ahead of Ramadhan.
The PDI expressed its appreciation to the public who supported and contributed to the worthy cause and hoped their contributions will be blessed and richly rewarded by Allah the Almighty.
The collection for the three districts concludes today at the Dakwah Units. – Lyna Mohamad
