Local filmmaker Abdul Zainidi premiered his latest short film Gone goat at a screening event hosted by Alliance Française de Brunei Darussalam recently, in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival.

With most of the actors in the film being hearing-impaired, the film release coincided with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed annually on December 3.

The short film tells the story of a folktale about a boy who must cope with the loss of his missing brother and is haunted by the strange visions. His only hope is to find his missing bother with the help of his goat.

According to Abdul Zainidi, “The film was met with good feedback and a question-and-answer session with the director and cast in sign language as well. The film is in Malay and sign language and is a universal talent of moving on and knowing how to sacrifice for a greater good despite the mysterious tale.”
