The Public Works Department (JKR) will organise the Safety and Health Week (MKK) from tomorrow to June 17 at the Atria Hall of JKR Headquarters at Old Airport in Berakas.
The programme, the fourth edition organised by the Administration and Finance Department, is part of efforts to enhance awareness on safety and health at the workplace including construction sites.
The programme is a continuance from the World Safety and Health Day at Work celebration marked every April 28 annually. Themed ‘A safe and healthy working environment as a fundamental principle and right at work’, the programme focusses and discusses rights at work place.
Throughout the programme, 11 briefings will be delivered, particularly on the aspects of health and safety by speakers from related departments and agencies.
Twelve exhibitions will be held by departments under JKR and private companies offering safety training and several personal protective equipment – PPE.
It will be enlivened with the Safety and Cheerful at Work programme on June 17 and a blood donation drive on June 26. The public is welcome to join.
