Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof who received a courtesy call from Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) President Haji Feisal bin Haji Eussof Patail advised the association to focus on positive efforts and to uphold integrity inside and outside the association.
The minister who met the delegation at the PMO building on Thursday, said football is a popular sport in the country and FABD should play a major role in developing the sports.
Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi also said the re-opening of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium will develop the sport.
Meanwhile, Haji Feisal said such meeting is a recognition and demonstrates support in forging relations between the association and ministries in developing the sport. He highlighted the achievements within the 100 days of the new administration of FABD for the 2024-2028 session including forging ties with the private sector and cooperation with football associations abroad.
FABD Deputy President Haji Mahrub bin Haji Murni, Acting Secretary General Matali bin Haji Mohd Tahir, Executive Committee Pengiran Haji Jufry bin Pengiran Haji Jaludin, and Marketing Officer Mohd Nazree bin Haji Abu Bakar were also present. – Azlan Othman
