The Legislative Council (LegCo) and the National Assembly Secretariat of Korea highlighted the long-standing cooperative relationship and hoped for further strengthening relations during a courtesy visit from the Korean delegation yesterday.
The two parties also discussed the education systems in their countries based on the needs of the nation and believe education is a crucial foundation in the development of a country and its people.
LegCo Speaker Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib received Secretary General of the National Assembly Secretariat of Korea Jae Hyun Baek and his delegation at the LegCo building.
Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the LegCo Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah and LegCo members Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Yang Berhormat Hajah Rosmawatty binti Haji Abdul Momin and Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir were also present.
A dialogue session was also held between the Korean delegation and Dr Hajah Huraini and the LegCo members.
The focus of the discussion included the establishment of bilateral cooperation, focusing on people-to-people exchanges, visits between the two parties and sharing information regarding best practices in areas of concern of mutual interest.
The session concluded with a tour of the conference hall, ahead of the upcoming 20th LegCo meeting. – Adib Noor
