As Brunei Darussalam strives to accomplish its goals set in its Vision 2035 which is drawing closer, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam in a titah called for the intensification of measures to bolster economic development and recovery efforts, and said that we should remain resolute despite the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The country must advance its objectives without delay, including putting the spotlight on economic development,” His Majesty said in a titah during the Investiture Ceremony in conjunction with his 76th birthday celebration at the Istana Nurul Iman on Friday.
The monarch also highlighted that his government’s efforts of economic diversification has already begun to show results, where over the past five years, the non-oil and gas sector has grown at an average rate of 4 per cent per annum.
