The uncertain weather conditions and heavy downpour in the country has resulted in flash floods in several areas of the Belait District, impacting a number of clinic services at Suri Seri Begawan (SSB) Hospital.
The clinic services affected include the orthopaedic clinic, eye clinic as well as ear, nose and throat (ENT) clinic, audiology clinic, dietitian clinic, obstetrics and gynaecology clinic, and paediatric clinic, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH). As a safety precaution for patients, caregivers and the public, the clinics were temporarily closed for a day depending on the severity of the weather conditions.
SSB Hospital will implement several steps including the closure of affected areas for public safety, rescheduling of patients’ appointments at the affected clinics, while patients requiring immediate treatment will be assessed in designated areas.
The MoH said it will monitor the flood situation and provide updates on the situation in SSB Hospital. – James Kon
