Premier Dental and Orthodontic Centre (PDOC) expanded its services to the Belait District with the opening of a new dental clinic in Kampong Pandan on Thursday.

Premier Dental Group Managing Director Dato Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Latip bin Haji Ibrahim said the clinic, which is the centre’s third branch, complements the dental services provided by the Ministry of Health.

He said the clinic has two modern dental treatment rooms, a seating area, a professionally designed sterilisation zone and a dental laboratory, providing the district with readily available and accessible dental services.

Group practice manager Dr Murali Rao added that the clinic design and layout incorporated regulatory requirements, especially concerning infection control standards and radiation safety.

“PDOC is accredited by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) and is working towards achieving dental accreditation by Joint Commission International (JCI),” he said.

The electronic dental records used by their clinicians enable patients’ details to be accessed seamlessly across the centre’s locations in Delima, Batu Satu and Kuala Belait.

The centres are staffed by five general dental surgeons, two orthodontists, one dental hygienist, two dental technicians and several trained dental assistants, besides other support staff.

The infection control practices at the decontamination zone and the autoclave and packing zone are in compliance with accreditation standards.

Each dental centre has a dental laboratory, while dentures and orthodontic retainers are processed by in-house technicians.

The new clinic will offer orthodontic services, dental hygiene and dental fitness-to-work services. General dental services will soon be available seven days a week. – Daniel Lim
