MPM GADONG ‘A’ & ‘B’
A flag-hoisting ceremony for Zone 1 of Mukim Gadong ‘A’ and ‘B’ was held at Gerai Rimba II open space in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam’s 41st National Day celebration.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Mohamad Ali bin Tanjong was the guest of honour.
The event commenced with a prayer followed by the handing over of the national flag by Acting Penghulu of Mukim Gadong ‘B’, as co-chairman, to the guest of honour. The flag was presented to the village head for the official hoisting.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, the guest of honour distributed flags to selected village residents.
Head of the Neighbourhood Watch, Mukim Consultative Councils advisors, acting penghulus, village heads, acting village heads and Village Consultative Council members were among those present. – Fadley Faisal
Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association
The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) recently held a flag-hoisting ceremony in celebration of the country’s upcoming 41st National Day.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a doa, followed by the march-in of scout members who received the national flag from the guest of honour.
This was followed by the hoisting of the flag, accompanied by the national anthem.
Meanwhile, at the ceremony, Skip Rostini binti Major (Rtd) Haji Suhaili was appointed the PPNBD Secretary-General, the first woman to hold this position.
“I am extremely excited and did not expect this appointment. It will be a challenge for me. Insya Allah, I will take up this challenge and fulfil the responsibilities entrusted on me. I will also learn more about matters related to the duties of the Secretary-General of the PPNBD,” Skip Rostini told the Bulletin.
PPNBD President Dato Paduka (Ar) Haji Idris bin Haji Abas handed over the letter of appointment to her during the flag-hoisting and presentation of warrant ceremony at the scouts headquarters in Beribi, Gadong.
Skip Junaidi bin Hussin, appointed Chief Commissioner of Scouts and Skip Ritchie Siabu, appointed the International Commissioner of PPNBD, also received their warrants of appointment. – Lyna Mohamad
Politeknik Brunei
National pride and patriotism filled the air in the surroundings of Politeknik Brunei (PB) with the hoisting of the national flag in getting ready for Brunei Darussalam’s 41st National Day celebration.
Held at the front yard of the PB building, the event aimed to enliven the 41st National Day celebration by increasing appreciation for the country’s independence as well as strengthening the spirit of patriotism.
Acting Director of PB Pengiran Dr Saiful Baharin bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, the guest of honour, handed over the flag to SJN KT Nasroy Efesus Petrus Tikom, Military Cadet of PB.
Two Army Cadet Trainers PW2 Athraba bin Haji Buntan and SJN Md Noor bin Haji Nordin also witnessed the handover.
The flag-hoisting was accompanied by the singing of the national anthem Allah Peliharakan Sultan and enlivened by the choir’s rendition of the patriotic song Berkibarlah Bendera.
The event started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by member of the Student Representative Council Session 2024/2025 Mohammad Hafidzzuddin bin Mohd Ridzuan.
